North Elevation

Agora city centre is a large retail unit (will be one of the largest in Lebanon) designed to accommodate, IKEA, Carrefour and a wide range of other shops.

The challenge was to design a highly sustainable retail unit and reduce the energy consumption and the running cost to the minimum without reducing the internal environmental quality.

ZEF set up the MEP concept and designed:

> Underfloor channels to reduce the fresh air heating gain.

> Combined cooling, heating and power system.

> Low energy but highly efficient electrical fittings.

By doing so the energy consumption was reduced by 41%, the capital cost by 5% and the equipment / plant rooms areas by 20%.
