Proposed building
ZEF and Buschow Henley Architects won the competition for a refurbishment project of Lambeth ACCORD which saw more than 125 companies bid. Our team were short listed in top 4 and eventually won the competition. The client’s desire for a very high sustainability statement was central to our success.

The brief set out in the competition was to transform Lambeth ACCORD into a truly public building, improving access to the conference facilities for community groups and office space for disability charities. The desire was to exceed DDA standards; however, our team’s objective was to do much more.

ZEF’s strategy was to reduce the energy demand to the feasible minimum solar passive design allowing future renewables coupling to meet and surpass the energy demands of the building.
